RE: After 39 years in a RV, now IT Is My Turn.

I use to have a wooden garage door that over the years became very heavy from water paint and who knows what, anyway I went out one morning and there laid a mouse pinned under the door mashed flat, that was one unlucky mouse.

Coast to coast pulling a 20-25 foot trailered

I have been thinking about what problems I would encounter pulling a trailer coast to coast. I haven't been to the northwest camping and next summer if things go right I will make the trip. BUT I need to know what are some of the things I should be looking for on the trip. Not places to see, but things I will run into, like pulling up mountains, across deserts ECT. My trip will be a long one and I will sorta circle the US. Leave Ohio to Texas, NM, CO, CA, headed to those states to visit relatives before meeting up in Washington with a group headed to Alaska. Then onto the other western states I haven't seen. Just thought I would ask for some tips from you good folks who have traveled more than I. Pete

RE: Thank You, Veterans

When I joined the Navy back in 1960 I never thought anything about becoming a Veteran. I don't think I ever met anyone who said look at me I'm a Veteran I did this and that you should be thankfull for my service. we just did our job mine was to work on the computers and radars that controlled where the guns pointed. the only thing I ever shot down was a practice sleeve pulled by an airplane. But like my Uncle who was a Medic in WWII to all the reserves everywhere I say THANKS. pete

RE: MPG for RVing versus flying

I have owned 4 airplanes one flew around 80 mph piper cub, one around 150 mph Smith sidewinder others around 120 mph. cub burned 5-6 gph, sidewinder 9-10 gph others 12 gph. The twin I rented flew 200 mph and burned 24 gph. But you are talking commercial airliners and yep they go fast but I can not get GF on one. I'll stay with an RV more fun but when you want to get somewhere fast fly. pete

RE: Vista / Wireless Connectivity

Can the OP connect to his router using wifi or must he be hooked to router using a cable before he can change settings? I ask because I haven't updated my router since I installed it last year. PETE

RE: Question for a Geek

Doesn't AT&T have a function that tracks where your kids are and somehow tells your phone may be a way to do what you want.

RE: $298 HP Computer @ wal-mart saturday only

I bought a Walmart $348.00 Acer laptop 2 years ago on a black Friday morning sale.......there were people lined up but the sale didn't start until 8 am on the nose....... fortunately for me, I got the last one.....I got there about 15 minutes before 8 am and was exactly #20 inline.......by 8:15 I was on my way back home....... The OP might not have gotten one either way but a sale that starts at 8am should start at 8 am......no excuses! Thank you. those were my thoughts. to the ones who think I expected to get one and only showed up 15-30 minutes before sale, yea I expected to get one IF, THATS IF they still had one. if you can not see the difference between what they said and what hey did then I feel sorry for you. Moderator if you want you can close this thread laptopless PETE

They make changing kits for apple ipod they can be found on amazon.com I would google Sanyo mp3 battery and see Ipod you have to take it apart unsolder wires and stuff or send it back to apple and they will charge to change battiersm, maybe sanyo will too.

$298 HP Computer @ wal-mart saturday only

When Wal-mart says sale starts at 8AM they mean 3AM. I have been wanting a new laptop and when Wal-Mart sent me an e-mail saying they were going to have some HP G60 laptops for sale today saturday the 7th I thought I would check them out. I arrived there at 7:30 to find a near empty parking lot, so far so good I unloaded my mobility scooter and headed in back to the Electronic Department still no coustomers, great only 7:45 after looking for the computers and not finding any I ask sales person when were they going to put out the computers? Her response was " we got 27 and they are all gone. sold the last one at 5." I said what? she said "we started handing out tickets to the ones who were in line and manager said go ahead and sell them." I sure glad I only wanted one and not needed one. This is just a small rant feel free to delete if you want. PETE

RE: U-haul ready to tent camp? may replace HTT w/tent camping!

Seems like a lot of work to get a campsite not quite as nice as a popup would provide. A used pup probably wouldn't even cost as much! IMO, if you are going to tent camp, do it where the cars and trailers can't go! priced pop-ups latley? Using a u-haul trailer I for one think it is a great idea. I have seen pictures of a flat bed trailer that someone had built a cover over it and had a camp kitchen on one side and storage on other and storage that was reached by the back doors for bikes beds ect. But my cousin only sleeps in a tent and does his traveling on a bicycle I don't want to do that.

RE: shower

Thanks to everyone about my shower delima. I like the idea of the net bag that can be carried to the park showers. My husband doesn't have much room to shower in the rv.......he is a big guy and our shower is small. The dispenser sound nice too but the shower is already small enough so I will skip that one. would shower be to small if the dispencers were mounted high up on the shower wall?

RE: Knifed new tire

I have experenced the same thing a neighbor of my GF was a snot-nosed 14 year old girl hanging out with 17 18 year old boys playing the radio loud at all hours. when my GF's mother complained they knifed her front tire. we just replaced it and said nothing maybe should have but two women living alone in a bad side of town (are there good sides anymore) more things would have gone wrong. the girl got mad at her mother and set the house on fire noone was hurt but GF and her mother were happy they were gone. pete

RE: Life without an air compressor.....don't get it

I must be the only crazy one here I got my air compressor before I had a house. back in 1973 Sears had a great sale on air compressors we were in the process of building a new house so I bought the compressor and kept it at the airport until the house was built. I needed one to use while I was building my first airplane bucking rivits ECT. Pete

RE: Pays to NOT assume (LP sales)

I have never had the need to partially fill portable tanks… JJ the only time I have filled partially empty tanks was when I bought my last trailer and was headed south for the winter. I didn't want to get caught somewhere with out enought propane. I never even used all of one the other was still full when I sold trailer, does propane go bad? My propane place weights the tanks and only charges for what is added.
